James M. Coombs, MD
James M. Coombs, M.D., was raised in Bountiful, Utah. He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then completed medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He stayed on to do his internship at the Moran Eye Center and University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake and then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Dr. Coombs is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also fluent in Portuguese and a member of the Idaho Society of Ophthalmology and the Idaho Medical Association.

He and his wife, Lori, have five children. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, canyoneering, backpacking, golf, and basketball.
